Puzzle World Cup begins

The 2026 Puzzle World Cup has begun with some surprise results as Estonia and Canada posted some totals that threaten the favourites. Tiit Vunk’s first top 10 puzzle finish since 2018 helped Estonia upset a France team that posted the 7th highest total of the round, and both of Canada’s Kevin Sun and Byron Calver outperformed their 2025 averages to defeat a Poland team who underperformed from their 2025 averages. Group H, the tightest group on paper had Czechia defeat their local rivals Slovakia, leaving Slovakia with a lot to do to make it out of the group stages. See the full scores here.
