There were no surprises in the final round of the league stage of the Puzzle Franchise Faceoff. Stream won their fourth round and go into the playoffs as strong favourites. Michael Kreiger was the top contributor for the second round in a row, ably supported by Ivan Adrian Koswara and Desirée Wilson as many solvers struggled to hit their 2025 averages this month. Matthew Kreiger, Kartal Nagy and Taro Arimatsu combined to give Coral a consolation second place in the sixth round, and the Brave’s Timothy Doyle, Calum Mailer and Huiyu Zhu will be pleased to have got their first points of the year for their team.
The playoffs will have the mighty Stream face Frank Wang and Tiit Vunk’s Titans, but unless Takuma Kitayama and Jana Novotna turn up, the averages suggest they will not provide much resistance to the Stream. The second semi final should be much more exciting as the Stars face the Reds. The Reds probably have the most balanced team overall, and the Stars have relied heavily on their stars – Xingjian Cui and Valentin Miakinen who have had incredible seasons so far. The rest of the team will need to have very good rounds to notch up the results that the team will need to progress to the final.
At this stage, the highest performer that we lose is the Iceberg’s 460 Cup champion Aleksei Daniliuk and Brave’s yellow casual cup finalist Calum Mailer, but otherwise the most consistent performers of the year will be in these stellar matchups.
