The 2026 Big Cup, Levelled Cups and Casual Cup competitions all got underway with Round 1 of the Grand Prix series. By the nature of the contest, not all the big names made it through Round 1 of the Big Cup, though the likes of Prasanna Seshadri, Jakub Ondroušek and Jan Vondruška will get a second chance to reach the semi finals through the indirect route. Germany’s World Cup player Christian König is not as lucky as he went out of the 540 cup after coming up against Czechia’s Veronika Macků. The Casual Cup Round 1 matches don’t conclude until next round as everybody gets two bites of the cherry in that competition.
