World Sudoku/Puzzle Championships
The World Sudoku and Puzzle Championships are held over the course of a week, once a year, during an in-person contest. Typically, the World Sudoku Championships will take place over several rounds during Monday and Tuesday, then the World Puzzle Championships will take place over several rounds during Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The Wednesday is generally set aside so that competitors can visit sights in the host country. Different countries will host the WSPC each year and are free to decide the exact layout of that year’s competition.
Each country can submit up to four official competitors (their A team) though they may also submit unofficial competitors who can also solve the puzzles, though they are not eligible to win the title. Each country will have different qualifying methods to be on their A team, so you will need to be in contact with your country’s puzzle federation to see their qualification procedure.
