How can I get involved?
Competitive puzzle sets are released most weekends between January and June. You will typically have at least a weekend-long window allocated to the puzzle set, and you can complete these puzzles at any time during that window. Since there is a time limit (e.g. 90 minutes) associated with that puzzle set, the process involves passwords and an online interface.
Generally, these involve:
1) Downloading a PDF
2) Clicking a button to get the password for the PDF (which also starts your time)
3) Printing the puzzles
4) Solving as many as you can within the time limit
5) Entering the “answer keys” into the website before the time elapses
You are not generally expected to solve all of the puzzles within the time limit. However, it would be advisable to check the Instruction Book which is released ahead of a competitive puzzle set to see whether you have met those puzzle types or variants before. If not, then solving the example puzzle, and possibly solving additional practice puzzles, would be sensible.
Results are generally released a few days after the window closes, so you can see how you did.
If you want to connect to other solvers or discuss some of these puzzles or events, the World Puzzle Federation has a Discord server: https://discord.gg/NM9xn6Rm9k
