The Grand Combined Tournament is on the cusp of the quarter finals now. Eight solvers remain unbeaten, and there are lots of big names, but Freddie Hand vs Ken Endo will not disappoint. The four winners of these matches take their places in the quarter finals, and then there will be 32 remaining to face off for the remaining spots.
Meanwhile, China exited the Sudoku World Cup due in part to Tantan Dai’s no show in Round 5, leaving Japan’s Ken Endo and Kota Morinishi as the favourites for the title. Japan saw off South Korea and face China’s conquerors USA in the semi finals, who have been outperforming their 2025 averages all year. The other semi final sees the group stage top scorers Czechia face the consistent Vietnam, who defeated Poland and Germany respectively.
